Sweat mostly takes place in a bar in Reading, PA in the year 2000. There are a few scenes that place just outside the bar, inside two sparse apartments, and within a Parole Office.
Most of the research went into working class dive bars. I wanted to catch the experience of being in an intimate but beloved space. I also wanted to capture the feeling of a low confined ceiling to represent the corporate cloud looming dangerously over the worker's lives.
